The roller is water ballast so the weight can be increased to achieve a firm true playing surface.

Critically it is towed by the John Deer mower which is both lighter & narrower than the roller please see above meaning it will never leave wheel ruts.

Mowing will also be performed on the same visit using the John Deer mower.
